Job summary

Johnstech in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Machinist Intern to assist with vertical mill machining of high-performance plastics and to help adjust CAM programs. You will work closely with other machinists and programmers to modify programs and ensure quality.

The position offers approximately 20 hours per week during the school year, with potential for up to full-time in the summer. A $23.50 per hour rate applies, with compensation based on experience and local market conditions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Manufacturing Technology program
• Ability to do close tolerance work, read and comprehend part drawings, and to inspect his/her own work using both computer-controlled and hand tool inspection equipment
• Detail oriented and able to work in a team environment
• Enthusiastic, motivated, cooperative and flexible

Responsibilities

• Machinists perform vertical mill machining at close tolerances
• Adjust CAM programs using Virtual Gibbs
• Machine setup and inspections
• Collaborate with machinists/programmers to modify programs as needed
