Qualifications

• CNC machinist must have excellent mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment, machine tools, and lathes, used for cutting, turning and milling.
• CNC Turning, 3 axis, 4 axis, 5 axis set-up/operator for mill and lathe machines.
• In addition to having strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, must have good analytical skills and be able to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledgeable about precision measurement tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Height gauges, Drop Indicators, Depth Micrometers.
• Must be familiar with in-cycle probing, modern machining tools/techniques. Experience with programming and macros is a plus.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; or completion of a full apprenticeship program; or successful completion of suitable company training preferred.
• Experience with machining hardened steel components to rockwells up to 62Rc and holding extremely tight tolerances.
• At least 5 years of experience as a fully qualified machinist required.
• Experience with SmartCam and/or Esprit software preferred for a Lathe Lead position.
