We are currently seeking a person who strongly aligns with our mission and core values to join our team in Seattle, as a CNC Machinist III in our Aerospace division. This role is ideal for someone with 3 years of CNC Machinist experience and one year of setup experience on manual mills. The candidate should possess well-rounded machining skills, especially with CNC Lathe, and be capable of working through first part run and setup on the CNC Lathe.

Please Note: Currently, one day shift (7:30 am to 3:30 pm) and one third shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) are available. Please specify your preferred shift when applying. Employees working swing or graveyard shifts receive shift differentials.

Purpose

Utilize current knowledge, skills, and abilities to improve setup and operation of all types of CNC machines to fabricate complex metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Responsibilities

  • Read requirements from specifications, drawings, and customer instructions.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Independently select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials.
  • Select and load appropriate programs from the network.
  • Set controls to regulate machining parameters.
  • Perform first part inspections.
  • Detect and troubleshoot machine and program issues.
  • Read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.
  • Verify conformance of finished work to specifications.
  • Collaborate with leads or supervisors to resolve machining issues.
  • Mentor colleagues and pursue further education in technological advances.
  • Ensure safety and health standards are followed and report concerns immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of setup experience on manual mills preferred.
  • At least 3 years of CNC Machinist experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide clear feedback.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Basic math skills and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic understanding of work orders and tools.
  • Knowledge of quality system concepts and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with breaks.
  • Repetitive motion work capability.
  • Availability to work as scheduled.
