This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, Security, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance support across all facilities.

  • A Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5am-3:30pm
  • B Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3pm-1:30am
  • C Shift: Friday-Sunday 5am-5pm
  • D Shift: Friday-Sunday, 4pm-4am (Flexible)


Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily part inspections using micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Utilize Verisurf and Modus software for inspection equipment (Absolute Arm, Revo CMM, Leica Tracker).
  • Oversee final product quality inspection, ensuring compliance with standards; identify ongoing quality issues, prevent potential production problems, and suggest improvements.
  • Inspect purchased parts, materials, components, and equipment upon receipt; determine appropriate inspection methods and procedures.
  • Coordinate communication between stakeholders, call meetings to address inspection issues.
  • Apply knowledge of nonconformance processes.

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in dimensional inspection.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards (1994, 2009, or 2018).
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high-value components.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Suite programs.
  • Self-motivated with good project prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build trust, maintain professionalism, and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. (e.g., refugee, asylum).

Desired:

  • Experience with Revo CMM, Absolute Arm, Faro Arm, Laser Tracker, 3D scanning, GOM Inspect, Verisurf software.
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Knowledge of CAD software.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment around flight hardware.
  • Certifications in safety and inspection related areas (e.g., Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Cryogenics, Cleanroom, etc.).
  • Experience in aerospace component inspection and quality standards.

Compensation for WA applicants ranges from $32.86 to $46.01 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
