Job summary

Magnetic Component Engineering in Torrance, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce low-volume, highly engineered parts from steel alloys, stainless steel, aluminum and plastics. You will work to tight tolerances (+/-2 microns) on multi-axis lathes and mills in a low volume, high-mix environment.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating 5-axis machines, training junior operators, using CMM and optical inspection equipment, writing simple G&M programs, preparing setup kits,

Qualifications

• 5 years experience machining low volume, highly engineered product with zero or little scrap.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• 1 year experience writing simple G&M code programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis lathes and mills to tight tolerances.
• Train CNC Machinist I/II in setups and tool sharpening.
• Use CMM and digital optical measuring devices.
• Write simple G&M code programs.
• Create setup kits and sheets to minimize setup time.
• Machine workpiece collets to meet timing and runout specs.
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining.
• Sharpen cutting tools and rework holders.
• Conduct first piece inspection and document quality.
• Perform 5S and housekeeping duties.
