Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Indiana is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up moderately complex jobs and operate CNC equipment to manufacture metallic and nonmetallic parts that meet quality standards.

You will review blueprints, select tools and fixtures, and monitor machine performance, making adjustments to ensure tolerances are met. Some training of personnel and involvement in preventive maintenance may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 3-5 years machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Knowledge of G-Codes.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Set up moderately complex jobs and operate CNC machines to fabricate parts and assemble units.
• Review blueprints and determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Select and secure tools, fixtures, and materials on machines.
• Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Verify finished work with precision measuring instruments for conformance.
• Install and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Assist in training personnel and perform/pilot preventive maintenance.
