Job summary

Randstad Staffing is hiring for a CNC Machinist II for a precision machine shop in Lauderdale, MN. This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills and proactive approach to improving machining processes and overall department efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in CNC machining, G-code/M-code programming, GD&T, and the ability to work independently to drive continuous improvement in machining operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of CNC machining, programming and troubleshooting.
• Proficient reading of blueprints, schematics and CAD drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with G-code and M-code programming.
• Understanding and application of GD&T.
• Knowledge of PLCs and robotics is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines using G-code and M-code.
• Troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times.
• Identify and solve problems related to machine performance and process inefficiencies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve workflows.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet specifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical degree or certification in CNC machining.
• 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
• strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in CNC programming (G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software.
• Understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of PLCs and manufacturing robotics is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive continuous improvement in machining operations.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
