Job summary

ISSI Engineering & Machining in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a CNC Machinist I to join our precision machining team. You will set up and operate Haas VF3 mills and Okuma LU15 lathes, read engineering drawings, and verify tooling and fixtures to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Candidates typically have 2–3 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and hands-on inspection tool knowledge. You’ll work closely with engineering, CAM, CMM, and quality to deliver accurate parts on

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, or a combination.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Must provide basic personal precision inspection tools.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, tool wear, and workholding.
• Strong attention to quality and detail with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up, prove out, and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Install fixtures, workholding, and cutting tools.
• Verify offsets and test CNC programs.
• Inspect parts with micrometers and calipers.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Collaborate with engineering, CAM programmers, and quality staff.
