Job summary

ISSI Engineering & Machining in Indianapolis seeks a CNC Machinist II to join our precision team. You will set up and operate Makino 4- and 5-axis centers, read complex drawings, perform GD&T inspections, and collaborate with engineering, CAM, and quality to ensure top-quality parts.

Ideal candidates have 4-5 years of CNC machining experience, with 4-axis/5-axis work, and a background in aerospace or regulated environments is preferred. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years CNC machining experience with setup and operation of complex processes.
• Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T requirements.
• Experience in aerospace or regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, prove out, and operate Makino 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers on production, expedite, and one-off work.
• Perform complex setups using precision fixtures, multiple offsets, non-vise workholding, probing, and multi-sided machining.
• Safely prove out CAM-generated programs, verify tooling, workholding, offsets, and clearances.
• Monitor and troubleshoot machining processes, tooling, workholding, offsets, and program execution.
• Read and interpret complex drawings and GD&T, perform manual inspection, and identify dimensional trends.
• Operate established CMM programs, interpret inspection results, and collaborate with quality.
