Job summary

McWane, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC lathes, VTL and mills in Alabama. You will set up, machine and inspect parts, ensuring production runs meet company quality standards and changeovers are timely. Team with quality and project coordinators to maintain efficiency.

The role requires blueprint reading, measuring with precision devices, and CAM programming is preferred. Safety, training, and process improvements are emphasized throughout the job family.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a CNC Machinist role.
• Enrolled in or participating in a CNC Machining program.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or higher in a technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal safety and team safety at all times.
• Assist supervisors in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear PPE including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
• Keep the assigned work area clean and safe.
• Load/unload parts, deburr parts, and start/stop machines.
• Read blueprints and use precision measuring devices.
• Change inserts, touch off tools, load fixtures, and load pre-written programs.
• Modify basic G-code and operate CNC and manual machines.
• Maintain stock materials and support day-to-day tasks.
• Demonstrate quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
• Follow safety, quality control, and regulatory policies.
• Receive training on CNC equipment and machine setup; participate in process improvements.
