Job summary

Rtsinspection is seeking a CNC machinist to operate a lathe from setup through production, producing precision parts from metal or other materials. The role emphasizes safe work practices, quality control, and adherence to blueprints and tolerances.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of CNC lathe experience, familiar with API tubular threading, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in set-up and operation of CNC Lathe.
• Experience threading API 8rd tubulars is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe to produce parts and tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints and measurements with calipers and micrometers.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with PPE rules.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Work with team to ensure quality, accuracy and on‑time production.
• Adhere to safety policies and stop work if safety is compromised.
• Willing to take on additional duties as required by the business needs.

Summary/Objective

CNC machinists works with computer numeric controlled (CNC ) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials. Computer numeric controlled equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds, or drills into the material. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

• All personal protective equipment (PPE) must be inspected by the employee and worn upon direction of supervisors, managers, and the safety manager. Participate in mandatory safety or PPE training and notify their supervisor when new PPE is necessary.

• Ability to use and interpret measurements of calipers and micrometers.

Position Type/Work Schedule

• This is a full‑time position, and the days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and/or holidays may be scheduled. Employee may be scheduled to work overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in set‑up and operation of CNC Lathe primarily for the threading of API 8rd tubulars.
