Description
The Manual Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual lathes to machine metal components and tubular products to specified dimensions and tolerances. The position primarily performs threading operations on API 8rd tubulars and uses blueprints, work instructions, measuring tools, and precision equipment to ensure parts meet quality and production requirements. The machinist is responsible for maintaining safe work practices, monitoring machine operation, identifying issues, and maintaining an organized work area.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, metal particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, lubricants and cutting fluids, heat, cold, rain, wind, and other industrial conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Appropriate PPE is required as directed by company policy and safety requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to portion, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a full-time position, and the days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and/or holidays may be scheduled. Employee may be scheduled to work overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
