Job summary

Auburn, Alabama manufacturing facility is hiring a CNC Machinist for 2nd shift. The role covers setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC lathes and related equipment, producing precision components from raw materials. Read blueprints, interpret drawings, and perform tool changes with minimal supervision.

Overtime opportunities and in-house training are provided. Competitive pay ranges from $26 to $30 per hour, based on experience, with dedicated machinists helping to optimize production

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining experience, ideally with CNC lathes.
• Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, setups, and tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints and work to precise tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic knowledge of CNC program offsets and G-code/M-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and conventional machining equipment.
• Machine precision metal components from raw materials to finished products.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Perform tooling changes, machine setups, and frequent changeovers.
• Read G-code and M-code and make basic edits to existing CNC programs.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and perform in-process quality checks.
• Work with onsite CNC programmers when more complex programming support is needed.
