Job description

Join to apply for the CNC Machinist - Grinder role at B&G Manufacturing Co., Inc.

This position is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of CNC and Manual Grinding Machines and for maintaining a clean, well-organized work area. Set up computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision metal components; perform grinding processes as specified by work orders, blueprints, drawings, templates, or layouts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Set up CNC and Manual Grinding equipment by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting and dressing grinding wheels; making offsets; calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and proving out part programs.
  2. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. Ensure 100% acceptance of parts in accordance with prints.
  3. Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  4. Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to complete work activities.
  5. Contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of tasks, exploring opportunities to add value, and accepting new and different requests.
  6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC and/or Manual machine setup and operation.
  • Experience with quality control measures.
  • Ability to perform routine calculations and use analytical skills to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Good judgment in process and problem-solving decisions.
  • Ability to make offsets.
Preferred Requirements
  • Training in CNC machine operations.
  • Experience with G-Code, Master CAM, and/or ESPRIT software.
  • Operation of CNC machines.
Physical Demands

Manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate PPE; capable of moving, installing, adjusting, measuring, and handling materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
