Job summary

GENERAL TOOL COMPANY is seeking a Machinist for aerospace and defense manufacturing on multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines. You will work from routed instructions, blueprints, and verbal direction to produce precision parts to exact specifications.

Responsibilities include setting up with vises, angle plates, V-blocks, rotary tables and spacers, then milling, drilling, tapping and reaming to required tolerances.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required, along with U.S. citizenship.
• Two years of vocational training in machine trades or equivalent CNC shop experience.
• Ability to read a blueprint, do the math (geometry, decimals, conversions).
• Experience amending G&M code at the machine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts on multi-axis CNC equipment from routed instructions and blueprints to customer specifications.
• Set up with vises, angle plates, V-blocks, rotary tables and spacers; mill, drill, tap and ream to required finishes.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify work and document results.
• Tram machine heads when needed and amend G&M codes; maintain documentation and safety.
• Collaborate with supervision and quality control to ensure machine parts meet specifications.
