Job summary

Aerotek in Commerce, GA is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints and verify parts meet specifications in a climate-controlled shop. The role offers a contract-to-hire path with two shifts and potential overtime.

You will work with Haas and Okuma machines, perform changeovers, read G-code, and use precision tools to ensure quality and data accuracy. Commitment to safety and housekeeping is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC mills and lathes with setups, changeovers and offsets.
• Ability to read blueprints and determine machining operations and tolerances.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools.
• Familiar with G-code/M-code for CNC programs and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Gauge and maintain part quality throughout machining to meet specifications.
• Follow written quality procedures and shop practices.
• Perform CNC setups, changeovers, and offsets on mills and lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine requirements, dimensions and tolerances.
• Conduct quality checks with micrometers, calipers, and other instruments.
• Ensure data integrity by proper clocking in/out in the data system.
• Build and adjust tooling for production runs and maintain tooling.
• Perform minor cutting tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
