Job summary

Verus Aerospace is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate and set up milling equipment, including 5-axis machines. The role emphasizes accurate measurement, tool maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, interpret M/G codes, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining production quality and equipment upkeep. Aerospace experience is a plus, with strong math and geometry skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification from an accredited organization and 5 years’ experience or
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce parts (aluminum/titanium).
• Take precise measurements using gauges, calipers, indicators, and micrometers.
• Maintain specifications by inspecting drilling and cutting, measuring, and troubleshooting.
• Set up and troubleshoot 5-axis machines for large, complex parts.
• Understand and use M and G codes for all centers and controllers.
• Assess feeds and speeds and suggest programming changes.
• Troubleshoot issues independently and ensure safety checks on equipment.
• Provide backup coverage for supervisor/manager.
