Job summary

Vestcom, an Avery Dennison Company, is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and vertical machining centers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role demands attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to read complex blueprints to produce precise parts.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of CNC experience, a high school diploma or GED, and may hold a technical CNC certificate or associate degree.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Technical cert or associate degree in CNC machining preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on CNC experience.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools and basic hand/power tools.
• Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel. G-code familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and VMCs to create high-tolerance parts.
• Troubleshoot issues using manuals, meters, and diagnostic skills.
• Read and interpret blueprints with radiuses, angles, and tangents.
• Perform light maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition.
• Collaborate with colleagues on shop floor projects.

Shift & Compensation

• 1st Shift:5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (4-day work week! Enjoy 3 days off).

Your Impact (Essential Duties)

• Precision Machining:Set up and operate CNC Lathes and Vertical Machining Centers to create complex, high-tolerance parts.

• Technical Troubleshooting:Use machine manuals, meters, and your own diagnostic skills to identify and fix issues.

• Blueprint Mastery:Read and interpret complex blueprints to manufacture profiles involving radiuses, angles, and varied tangent points.

• Continuous Improvement:Perform light maintenance and cleaning on your equipment to ensure peak performance and a safe environment.

• Collaboration:Support plant-wide facility projects and assist team members across the shop as needed.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

• Education:High School Diploma/GED required. A Technical Certificate or Associate’s Degree in CNC Machining is highly preferred.

• Experience:3-5 years of hands-on CNC experience or equivalent training.

• Technical Skills:* Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools.

  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • The "Plus" Factor:Familiarity or working knowledge ofG-codeis a significant advantage.

• Physical Readiness:Ability to stand for 75% of the shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a loud manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.
