Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Sector has an opening for a CNC Machinist 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting Iuka, MS.
Essential Functions:
Sets up and operates a variety of CNC/CMM machines & tools.
Sets machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Interprets blueprints, GD&T, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Use of multi-axis CNC Machine.
G code and M code proficient.
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50lbs.
Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. Clearance is required to start, but not to apply.
Ability to work any shift depending on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Clearance.
CNC machining experience.
Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Salary Range: $48,500 - $80,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
