Job summary
Horton, Inc. in Britton, SD is seeking a CNC Machinist for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 PM–2:00 AM) with overtime as needed. Pay starts at $28.30/hr plus a $1.25/hr shift premium.
The role involves setting up and operating tools in a work cell to produce parts within tight tolerances. Responsibilities include tool changes, assisting others, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality parts. Qualifications
- Experience operating mills and/or lathe as CNC machinist or with a 2-year technical degree.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Intermediate inspection and measurement capabilities.
- Basic machine setup and operation.
- Basic math proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Changes settings or programs and tooling inserts to achieve proper dimensions of finished parts.
- Assist less experienced machinists with more complex set-ups.
- Operate one or more machine tools to produce high quality parts efficiently.
- Perform daily and weekly routine machine maintenance.
- Move between machines in the cell as directed by area manager.
- Set up and operate machine tools within the work cell.
- Other duties may be assigned to support the company.
