Responsibilities include:

• Set up and operate CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications.
• Proper use and maintenance of measuring tools and devices used in inspection of components.
• Work under general supervision, with occasional duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform setups on various CNC production equipment such as milling, turning, or similar operations.
• Fabricate precision tools and fixturing to tight tolerances based on specifications.
• Read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances.
• Program and operate machines with a high level of knowledge.
• Understand material properties and special machining requirements.
• Measure, inspect, and troubleshoot finished work pieces.
• Complete routine tasks to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Perform periodic machine maintenance and repairs using hand tools.
• Maintain safety standards and a clean workspace.

Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 15 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs on occasion.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNC certification/trade school is a plus.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls, Virtual Gibbs, and manual programming.
• Knowledge of DNC systems, setup time reduction, and prototyping is advantageous.
• Strong ownership, work ethic, and communication skills.
