Job summary

Mate Precision Technologies in Anoka, MN is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, producing precision components in a climate-controlled environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, inspect with micrometers and calipers, and collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams to solve problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
Experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment is required.
Strong knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, machining processes, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
Comfort using precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges) and basic programming features; familiarity with ERP systems.
Strong math, communication, and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines to produce precision components.
Inspect own work using precision measuring tools and meet quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to solve problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
