Mate Precision Technologies in Anoka, MN is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, producing precision components in a climate-controlled environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, inspect with micrometers and calipers, and collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams to solve problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
• Experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment is required.
• Strong knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, machining processes, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
• Comfort using precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges) and basic programming features; familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong math, communication, and safety-focused mindset.

Requirements:

In this role, you’ll set up and operate CNC and conventional machines and machining centers to produce precision components while meeting quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.

You’ll work with blueprints and GD&T requirements, inspect your own work using precision measuring tools, and troubleshoot issues to help keep production running smoothly.

You’ll also collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to solve problems, improve processes, and support continuous improvement efforts such as 5S, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping. Success in this role comes from strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality, and a willingness to support the team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a two-year technical degree preferred.

Competitive pay ranging from $25.00 - $39.36 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential - based upon skill and experience

Shift schedule options: Mon-Fri, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. (5 days x 8 hrs) OR Mon-Thurs 3:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. (4 days x 10 hrs)
