Job summary

Harvey Performance Company in Valencia, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist for second shift to operate state-of-the-art grinders and ensure tool quality. The role focuses on precision, program editing, and in-process inspection, with emphasis on safety and SOP adherence.

You will manufacture production orders, edit grinding software, perform first piece inspections, and support colleagues to keep equipment running smoothly. A growth-minded environment and strong benefits await.

Qualifications

• Experience with Walter and Star CNC tool grinding machines.
• Familiarity with Toolstudio, Numroto or Walter Helicheck.
• Knowledge of cutting tool geometries.
• Blueprint reading abilities.
• Ability to inspect, monitor and maintain quality.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers and similar tools.
• Follow engineering docs including geometry specifications, drawings, routers and SOPs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; detail oriented; able to work independently.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our CNC Machinists are responsible for the setup and operation of our state-of-the-art CNC machinery, as well as the quality of the industry leading tools we produce. This position will be for our second shift.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Manufacture production orders for several CNC grinders.
• Edit/maintain CNC tool and cutter grinding programs.
• Perform first piece and in-process inspection of product.
• Assist coworkers in keeping equipment running efficiently.
• Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

YOU’LL BRING:

• Experience with Walter and Star CNC tool grinding machines.
• Software experience with Toolstudio, Numroto, and/or Walter Helicheck a plus.
• Knowledge of cutting tool geometries.
• Blue print reading abilities.
• Ability to inspect, monitor and maintain quality.
• Competent in the use of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to follow Engineering documented including but not limited to:
  • Geometry specification sheets
  • Product drawings
  • Job routers
  • Process sheets
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability for attention to details.
• Ability to work independently.
• Regular standing and frequent walking.
• Occasional climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

The California hourly range for this position is $23+/hr based on experience and qualifications.
