Overview

Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation, has an opening for a CNC Machinist to work in our Britton, SD location. This is a 2nd shift position with standard hours Monday-Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with overtime as needed. The pay starts at $26.95 per hour, with a shift premium of $1.25 per hour. CNC Machinist Position Summary:

The CNC machinist sets up and operates machine tools within the work cell. Loads materials into machines and operates machine tools to produce finished parts that conform to proper dimensions, inspecting work and performing basic setting/adjusting of the machine to maintain products within specified tolerances.

Responsibilities

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

1. Change settings or programs and tooling inserts to achieve the proper dimensions of finished parts.
2. Assist less experienced machinists with more complex or difficult set-ups.
3. Operate one or more machine tools to produce high-quality parts efficiently.
4. Perform daily and weekly routine machine maintenance.
5. Move between machines in the cell as directed by the area manager.
6. Set up and operate machine tools within the work cell.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

CNC Machinist Qualifications:

1. Experience with Mills and/or Lathe work as a CNC Machinist or a 2-year technical degree.
2. Blueprint reading skills.
3. Ability to communicate and work efficiently with others.
4. Basic computer skills.
5. Intermediate inspection and measurement skills.
6. Basic machine setup and operation skills.
7. Basic math skills.
8. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
