Job description

Tool & Die Maker - 2nd Shift (S-TH, 3:00PM-11:00PM) - Hourly wage rate for those holding a Journeyman card is $35.85. Those without a Journeyman card will start at $33.78.

Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Tool & Die Maker to be based out of Wayne, MI. This is a 2nd shift position and we are looking for a candidate with experience. The Hourly wage rate for those holding a Journeyman card is $35.85. Those without a Journeyman card will start at $33.78. Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager, this person will be responsible for making and maintaining all types of tools, dies, and fixtures.

What you’ll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive dies
  • Ensure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to ensure all components meet specifications
  • Ability to make adjustments to work performed when needed
  • Ability to independently select the proper metals and materials to meet project specifications
  • Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are being met
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc.
  • Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
  • Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
  • Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas


What you’ll bring:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred
  • 1 – 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • 3 – 5 years experience in Tool & Die making preferred
  • Basic math and verbal skills
  • Excellent technical skills, to include the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
  • Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $35.85 for those holding a Journeyman card. Those without a Journeyman card will start at $33.78. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
