Job summary

Metals USA is actively seeking a CNC Machine Operator for 1st shift at our Port City/Tulsa, OK location. The role involves machine setup, material handling, and multi-machine operation with a focus on accuracy, safety, and quality control.

You will read CAD drawings, set up tools and parameters, perform measurements, and maintain documentation. ISO processes may apply and opportunities for growth exist.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing comprehension in English to read work orders, safety and policy manuals.
• Measuring skills to read English & Metric systems with a tape measure and gauges.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Experience operating an overhead crane / forklift operator.
• Proficient in use of hand tools including grinders.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and mulit-limb coordination.
• Computer literacy; Microsoft Products, CAD Programming and ERP.
• Must be organized with attention to detail.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Choose correct material for the job according to work order.
• Set up machine, select burning tip, adjust gas flow and feed rates.
• Position work pieces for processing and operate multiple machines.
• Use gauges, calipers and rulers for measurement.
• Review CAD drawings and work orders for specifications.
• Set up material fixtures and align in machine beds.
• Adjust controls for depth and feed rates.
• Perform quality inspections and in-process checks.
• Coordinate material handling and operation of overhead crane.
• Complete paperwork and restock materials.
• May mark identification on material before and after processing.

CNC Machine Operator - 1st shift

Metals USA is currently looking for a CNC Machine Operator - 1st Shift for our Port City/Tulsa, OK location. The Machine Operator performs production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.

• Chooses correct material for the job according to work order
• Sets up machine, selects proper burning tip, sets gas flow and machine feed rates
• Positions work pieces for processing (may operate a combination of different machines)
• Uses gauges, calipers, squares or rulers for measurement
• Determines processing specifications such as materials, burning tips, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances and operational sequences
• Reviews CAD drawings, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications
• Sets up and aligns specified material or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, shims or hand tools
• Adjusts controls to set depth and feed rates
• Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections
• Diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments and removes scrap from machine
• Coordinates and executes material handling to be processed including operation of overhead crane
• Completes work order paperwork/documentation
• Restocks material
• Must be able to learn Metals USA heat number system
• May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing
• May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping
• Stacks, bands and palletizes finished products for shipment to customers
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
