The CNC Machinist for 1st shift applies knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set up and operate various computer numerical control machine tools to produce precision parts.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machine work.
• Modify cutting programs as needed and save changes.
• Enter commands to manage part programs and transfer data.
• Inspect completed units for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
• Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications.
• Operate machines, monitor operations, and record data.
• Adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support other shop areas as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to use quality control tools like vernier calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of lean and 6S safety principles.
• Good computer skills.
