A leading company in the wholesale building materials industry is seeking a CNC Machinist to provide machining and programming expertise. The role involves operating CNC machinery, managing shift output, and ensuring safety and quality standards. Candidates should have strong mathematical skills and experience in programming with Master CAM and AutoCAD. Provide machining and programming expertise in support of the Specialty Tooling Department. Setup and operate CNC machinery, including potential programming, for die/mold fabrication. Responsible for milling operations on various machines (Okuma, Nidec, Haas, Toyoda, manual machines) and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Manage shift output, adjust work assignments for effective workflow, and continuously improve throughput cost-effectively through teamwork.
Assist in developing repair processes, serve as primary trainer for less experienced machinists, and ensure schedule adherence. Proficiency in mathematics, 2-3D drafting, G/M codes, and general computing is required. Perform part inspections and generate CNC programs using customer drawings, project communications, and Master CAM software. Configure cutting tools and analyze drawings to determine proper machine settings and tooling.
Use AutoCAD Mechanical and Autodesk Inventor to create CAD drawings in 2D or 3D. Design specialized tooling for die/mold production. Meet schedule timelines and quality specifications in a supportive team environment, balancing capacity with demand.
