The CNC Operator is responsible for creating high-quality body jewelry products to be shipped internationally. This role involves operating and maintaining precision computer-controlled equipment to produce parts and tools.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate multi-axis CNC Mill machines within the Machining department.
- Utilize calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other machinist hand tools.
- Monitor and modify machine speeds and tooling as necessary.
- Calculate and adjust feeds and speeds to maintain tight tolerances on materials such as Ti, Niobium, and Stainless Steel.
- Set up and maintain machine operations, lubricate workpieces, and replace dull cutting tools.
- Operate 3-4 axis machines; 5-axis experience preferred, especially on Fanuc controls.
- Adjust tools and replace as needed for close-tolerance machining.
- Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Operate machines in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and data.
- Proficiency in measuring parts using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gauges, etc.
- Willingness to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Know when to seek help or guidance.
- Ability to use an eye-loop and/or microscope at 5x magnification.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts successfully.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.).
- Ability to use precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely access and navigate the work areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Capability to work with standard power tools.
- Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, and move around the facility.
- Use depth perception, peripheral vision, and color identification regularly.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years in machining required.
