Job description
Responsibilities
Ability to safely operate all equipment and systems in machining area.
Proficient at dimensionally checking parts using precision measuring tools
Programs CNC machines tools in the course of making parts
Sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations
Determines and prioritizes job shop production operation sequence
Operate 3 & 4-axis CNC lathes and mills. Currently utilizing Hurco and Okuma vertical mills, Cincinnati Horizontal mills, Mazak lathes, and Hurco mill/turn lathe.
Interacts and coordinates with other functions (Engineering, Quality, etc.)
Enters process performance data when required
Qualifications
5 years minimum experience in CNC and conventional machining
HURCO, Okuma & Cincinnati Milacron CNC Experience preferred
Experience operating Lathes or Mills
Mill Machining experience preferred
A certificate from an accredited trade school in machining or equivalent experience
Specific knowledge of appropriate feeds, speed, and tooling for a wide range of materials
Ability to prove out new NC file programs; Edit feeds and speeds; Extend or shorten tool extension as needed per machining conditions; Increase efficiency and/or to achieve surface finish requirements.
