Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This full-time role involves operating multiple machines, reading blueprints, and performing complex setups across CNC and conventional mills and lathes.

Qualified candidates have at least 3 years of experience, a High School diploma, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position offers two shifts (1st and 2nd) with on-site work in a smoke-free environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years CNC machining experience.
• Experience with CNC and conventional mills and lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• High School education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Fully operate multiple machines including CNC and conventional mills and lathes.
• Perform pre-operational inspections on all equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specs for work dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform complex setups across multiple machines; adjust chucks, tooling, and offsets.
• Operate sit-down forklifts and use overhead cranes to move parts as needed.
• Run trial operations to verify settings and program controls.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials.
• Set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant, and depth; edit controls if needed.
• Monitor operations for malfunctions and adjust as required.
• Inspect finished workpieces for conformance to specs.
• Record time spent on tasks in shop management system.
• Follow department continuous improvement tasks.

Role Details

• Position: Senior CNC Machinist
• Shifts Available:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Position Type: Full-Time
• salary: $58,240 - $70,720 per year

Responsibilities

• Fully operate multiple machines as needed, including CNC and conventional mills and lathes.
• Perform pre-operational inspections on all equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and dispatch specifications to determine work piece dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.
• Perform complex setups independently across multiple machines, including checking or changing chucking jaws, tooling, and rotating offsets.
• Operate sit-down forklifts to retrieve parts and load them onto storage racks.
• Utilize overhead cranes and hoists to load and unload heavy parts between racks and machines.
• Run trial operations to verify machine setting accuracy and programmed controls.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and raw materials.
• Calculate and set machine controls to regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, and cut depth/angle, or edit computerized control media.
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making adjustments as needed.
• Inspect and verify finished workpieces for full conformance to technical specifications.
• Track and record time spent on individual functions and tasks within the enterprise shop management system.
• Carry out daily tasks following the department’s continuous improvement plan.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
