Job summary

Smith+Nephew in Mansfield, MA is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment to manufacture medical components from raw materials. You will read blueprints, verify tool offsets, and run multiple machines while supporting process improvements in a team-based environment.

You will also train lower-level operators, collaborate with engineers on fixtures and tooling, and perform minor fixture repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years CNC Turning experience is required.
• Familiarity with blueprints and tool offsets is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment including turning, milling, grinding, drilling, tapping, EDM, and honing.
• Read blueprints, establish tool offsets, and replace worn tooling.
• Run multiple machines simultaneously and participate in product/process improvements.
• Use inspection equipment to verify product quality and support process improvements.
• Train and support lower-level operators and collaborate with engineers on fixtures and tooling.
• Perform minor fixture repairs and modifications and ensure documentation and compliance.
