Job summary

Software Placement Group in Lebanon, OH is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to produce precision components to exact dimensions and tolerances in a fast-paced machining shop.

You will set up, program, and operate CNC equipment, read blueprints, adjust fixtures, monitor tool wear, and maintain quality while following safety procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position offering opportunities to improve processes and contribute to high-quality production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Machine parts following blueprints and specifications.
• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC tools for tight tolerances.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, and materials.
• Maintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness.
• Calculate and set CNC controls for speed, feed, coolant, and cut depth.
• Start and observe machine operation; adjust as needed.
• Apply basic CNC programming and edits to optimize processes.
• Clean and maintain machines, tooling, and parts.
• Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment.

Location: Lebanon, OH | Schedule: Full-time, on-site (6AM to 4:30PM Monday thru Thursday)

Overview

An established manufacturer in the machining industry is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to produce precision component parts to exact dimensions and tolerances. This role is essential to maintaining high-quality production standards while supporting a collaborative, forward-thinking shop environment.

What you'll do

• Machine parts following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications
• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machine tools to perform diversified and difficult operations requiring close/exact tolerances on parts with various dimensions and unusual contours and finish specifications
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into the machine
• Maintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability
• Calculate and set controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required
• Apply basic programming skills to CNC equipment
• Clean and maintain machines, tooling, and parts to keep equipment in optimal production condition
• Maintain and edit CNC programs to fine-tune processes for optimum performance
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to set up, program, and operate CNC equipment, including CNC VTL, CNC horizontal mill, CNC vertical mill, and CNC horizontal lathes
• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining
• Ability to read blueprints and plans
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to read measuring instruments and maintain machinery and equipment in the machining trade
• Excellent mathematic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent mechanical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; loads over 50 pounds require two people or a lifting device
• Ability to climb and work from ladders, operate lifting devices, and move around the shop floor without assistance
• Ability to work in confined spaces, including crawling in, on, and under equipment
• Ability to tolerate a typical shop environment, including extreme heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes, and other elements
• Must wear safety glasses and steel toed shoes, along with additional PPE as required

Preferred qualifications
