Job summary

Laborup in Jamestown, NY is seeking CNC Machinists to produce precision aerospace and defense components on CNC lathes and mills. You'll work on turning and milling operations, with training available for the right candidate and opportunities to advance in a growing production environment.

2nd shift schedule with 10-hour shifts and significant overtime. Competitive hourly pay ($23–$26) plus a $2/hour second-shift differential, and potential relocation assistance for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience is required.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and reliability are essential.
• Ability to work 2nd shift and maintain attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture aerospace/defense components.
• Perform setups and changeovers based on job requirements.
• Select, load, and monitor cutting tools throughout machining.
• Make offsets and process adjustments to maintain part quality.
• Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections and document results.
• Read blueprints and GD&T per manufacturing instructions.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to maintain productivity.

We’re hiringCNC Machinistsfor our precision aerospace and defense manufacturing facility inJamestown, NY.

You’ll manufacture high-precision components supporting demanding aerospace and defense programs usingCNC lathes and mills. We have opportunities for machinists with backgrounds in both turning and milling, withseveral of our current openings supporting CNC lathe operations.

We’re looking for machinists with a strong CNC foundation who want to continue developing their skills in a precision manufacturing environment. Experience with setups, tooling, offsets, and programming is highly valued, but we have the ability to train and develop the right people based on their existing machining experience.

Compensation

Responsibilities

• CNC Machining:Operate CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture precision aerospace and defense components.
• Machine Setups:Perform setups and changeovers based on job requirements and experience level.
• Tooling:Select, load, change, and monitor cutting tools throughout the machining process.
• Machine Adjustments:Make offsets and process adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional requirements.
• Quality Inspection:Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify components meet specifications.
• Precision Measurement:Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Blueprint Reading:Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing instructions.
• Troubleshooting:Identify machining, tooling, and quality issues and make appropriate adjustments.
• Production:Maintain quality and productivity while supporting aerospace and defense production schedules.

Required

• Previous CNC machining experience
