Job summary

A Humboldt, IA manufacturing company is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join its production team. You will perform setup, programming, and operation of CNC and manual lathes to produce high-quality precision components.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, has solid math and mechanical skills, and can follow work orders while maintaining safety and efficiency on the shop floor during a Monday–Thursday, evening shift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using manual and digital measuring tools and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform setups and operation of CNC and manual lathes, focusing on ID and OD turning.
  • Create programming sequences for new programs and make adjustments.
  • Produce parts within tolerances and inspect with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Read work orders and production schedules and follow tool changeouts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist in other plant areas as needed.

CNC Machinist | $19.50+/hr - Depending on Experience Monday–Thursday, 3:15pm-1:45am

An established manufacturing company in Humboldt, IA is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join their production team! The CNC Machinist is responsible for performing the setup, programming, and operation of CNC and manual lathes to turn out high-quality precision components. Individuals with CNC lathe experience, blueprint reading skills, and a strong mechanical background are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities
  • Perform setups and operation of CNC and manual lathes, focusing on ID and OD turning.
  • Create programming sequences for new programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Produce high-quality parts within standard or customer-supplied tolerances, achieving expected throughput levels.
  • Inspect parts using measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, dial calipers, depth mics) to validate part quality.
  • Read and follow work orders, manufacturing orders, and production schedules.
  • Perform tool changeouts, including cutting inserts, tool holders, and drills.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and material identification (tube stock, shafting, slugs, plates, pulleys).
  • Occasionally run multiple machines simultaneously and assist in other plant areas as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED, 1–3 months related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using manual and digital measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, tape measures).
  • Solid math, mechanical, and basic computer skills, with strong concentration skills for programming.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 45 lbs. occasionally (hoist available); comfortable standing, walking, and bending throughout shift.
  • Comfort working around industrial equipment, coolants, and hot metal chips in a loud shop environment.
