Job summary

Fathom Digital Manufacturing in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate vertical machining centers and horizontal lathes, perform MDI programming, and ensure parts meet GD&T specifications.

You will inspect with gauges, read 2-D drawings, participate in Lean events, and collaborate with a team while upholding safety and quality procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree or 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers.
• Set up and operate horizontal lathes.
• MDI programming and programming using G-code.
• Inspect parts with gauges and read GD&T/2-D drawings.
• Monitor and inspect parts throughout the machining process.
• Follow quality and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team to solve technical issues.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup and Operation of CNC vertical machining centers
• Setup and Operation of horizontal lathes
• MDI (Manual Data Input) programming, using
• Inspection using manual gauges and instruments
• Understanding of GD&T and ability to read 2-D drawings
• Monitor an inspect the part throughout the machining process
• Observe all company quality and safety procedures
• Communicates and collaborates with team members in the sharing of information and solving technical issues
• Participates in Lean manufacturing events
