Qualifications

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Setup/teardown of machine tools – load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed
2. Download programs from central database
3. Make program changes as needed to improve process
4. Load and unload parts from machine
5. Utilize measuring equipment for frequent inspection of in-process and finished products to control quality through the machining processes, including micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, rail gages, etc.
6. Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments as needed, including machine offsets and index or change inserts
7. Make tooling changes as needed to improve process
8. Keep immediate area clean and orderly

Equipment Used:

• Machine tools such as CNC Lathes, Mills, or VTLs
• Hand tools

Preferred Candidate Attributes:

• Motivated by daily and weekend overtime
• Possess at least 10 years of machining experience
• Experience with Horizontal-Vertical lathes and/or Mills and/or Mill-Turn Machines
• Ability to make minor program changes
• Ability to read and understand engineering routing and process drawings
• Ability to determine when cutting tools are dull and should be changed or indexed
• Proficient with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges
• Strong math and minimal trigonometry skills
• Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and shop routing

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
