Job summary

Fike Corporation, a growing manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, is seeking a Machinist 1 in Blue Springs, MO. The position includes operating saws, NC/CNC machinery, and material handling tasks.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of Vo-Tech or manufacturing exposure. Forklift certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire, and safety/ISO9001 adherence is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six+ months of Vo-Tech, manufacturing, or mechanical exposure.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings.
• Exposure to using hand tools and measuring tools (calipers and gauges).
• Basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Trainee duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and deliver material to operators.
• Keeps the material area clean and provides assistance with cycle count needs.
• Conducts in-process inspection.
• Prepares/enters/completes work order reporting, transactions, documentation, and non-conformances in applicable software and computer systems.
• Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows ISO9001.
• Must be able to pass forklift certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Performs set up on at least one machine.
• Able to set up and run 50% of the product on the primary machine.
• Able to observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.

Compensation

$21.50-$23/ hour per hour and is based on the candidate’s experience.

Job Summary

Performs routine tasks which include cleaning machines, deburring parts, and saw operations. Operates other types of machinery such as numerical control (NC) and computer numerical control (CNC).

Primary Responsibilities

Operates saws and delivers material to operators as needed.

Keeps the material area clean and provides assistance with cycle count needs.

The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Qualifications
