Atterro in Baxter, MN is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC lathes, mills, and machining centers to produce precision components. You will read blueprints, verify dimensions, and maintain quality records.

  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with ISO/AS9100.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience Requirements
  • Manufacturing or CNC machining experience appropriate to the position
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • CNC setup experience preferred for advanced positions
  • CNC programming experience preferred for senior-level roles
  • Knowledge of GD&T is a plus
  • Experience with Mazak or similar CNC equipment is a plus
  • Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Job Duties
  • Operate CNC lathes, mills, machining centers, and related equipment
  • Set up machines, tooling, and workstations according to specifications
  • Read blueprints, work orders, and setup documentation
  • Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
  • Change tooling and assist with machine setups
  • Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues
  • Perform machining operations including drilling, threading, turning, and cutting
  • Maintain production records and required documentation
  • Follow quality, safety, and ISO/AS9100 procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
  • Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Machinist.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.

What You Will Do

As a CNC Machinist you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

A CNC Machinist produces precision parts through the operation of advanced CNC machining equipment. This role requires technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy throughout every stage of the machining process.

The CNC Machinist combines blueprint interpretation, machine setup, tooling knowledge, and precision inspection techniques to manufacture quality components. Successful candidates understand the importance of consistency, safety, and attention to detail.
