Job Overview

The CNC Machinist sets up and operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to perform machining operations such as milling, lathes, large horizontal and vertical lathes. The role involves reading blueprints, processing sheets, and sketches to determine specifications, setting up and operating machines, and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

1. Promote and participate in advancing the safety culture of the facility.
2. Read, interpret, and process blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.
3. Download and interpret programs from a DNC storage system.
4. Select and install proper tooling for operations.
5. Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials such as steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.
6. Edit and write CNC programs as needed.
7. Understand tooling and machinery capabilities.
8. Perform quality inspections and adhere to quality systems.
9. Follow company policies and procedures.
10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Set up measuring equipment and perform necessary measurements.
