Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate three Mazak CNC mills and one Mazak CNC lathe.
• Create, enter, edit, and troubleshoot Mazatrol conversational programs at the machine control.
• Read, understand, edit, and apply G-code/EIA programs.
• Use conditional programming logic, including variables, conditional statements, loops, GOTO commands, or similar functions.
• Translate blueprint dimensions, tolerances, features, and machining requirements into accurate CNC programs and machine inputs.
• Plan milling and turning sequences based on part blueprint and specifications.
• Select cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, and offsets.
• Complete machine setups and changeovers for new or repeat jobs.
• Load programs, touch off tools, establish work coordinates, and verify toolpaths.
• Conduct prove-outs and first-piece runs while monitoring for errors.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.

Job Details

• Set up, program, and operate three Mazak CNC mills and one Mazak CNC lathe.
• Create, enter, edit, and troubleshoot Mazatrol conversational programs at the machine control.
• Read, understand, edit, and apply G-code/EIA programs.
• Use conditional programming logic, including variables, conditional statements, loops, GOTO commands, or similar functions.
• Translate blueprint dimensions, tolerances, features, and machining requirements into accurate CNC programs and machine inputs.
• Plan appropriate milling and turning sequences based on the part blueprint and specifications.
• Select cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, work offsets, and tool offsets.
• Complete machine setups and changeovers for new or repeat jobs.
• Load programs, touch off tools, establish work coordinates, and verify toolpaths.
• Conduct prove-outs and first-piece runs while monitoring for interference, programming errors, and tooling issues.
• Inspect finished components using appropriate precision measuring instruments.
• Make program, tooling, speed, feed, and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining problems involving programs, setups, tooling, workholding, or part quality.
• Maintain safe operating practices and an organized work area.

Qualifications Needed

• Hands‑on experience setting up and programming Mazak CNC machines.
• Experience working with both CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Proficiency with Mazatrol conversational programming.
• Ability to read, edit, and troubleshoot G-code/EIA programs.
• Experience using conditional logic within CNC programs.
• Ability to take information directly from a blueprint and enter the necessary dimensions, tooling data, offsets, and machining parameters.
• Strong blueprint‑reading skills, including dimensions, tolerances, and machining symbols.
• Experience planning milling and turning operations and determining the proper machining sequence.
• Ability to select cutting tools, establish workholding, and adjust speeds and feeds.
• Experience touching off tools, setting work coordinates, and completing machine prove‑outs.
• Ability to inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments.
• Proven ability to independently take a job from blueprint through an approved finished part.
