Job summary

BiTec SMI in Dayton, OH seeks a CNC Machinist Trainee to assist skilled machinists, read blueprints, and help set up CNC and conventional machines. You will follow routing, maintain ISO quality, and learn to adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling while documenting production issues.

Strong manual dexterity and basic math are required; high school diploma or trade training preferred. This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing environment with safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and routing.
• Understanding of geometric tolerances and precision parts.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and controls.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality control per ISO standards.
• Assist machinists with setup and troubleshooting to reduce scrap.
• Assist with machine/tool inspections and adjustments as needed.
• Set up conventional and CNC machines per routing instructions.
• Review prints and specs to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate machines, adjust speeds/feeds, and manage tool changes.
• Document issues and complete job cards daily.
