Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an entry-level CNC Machine Operator Trainee to gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining CNC machines, learning setup, operation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting under supervision.

This paid training program lasts about 90 days on day shift, with potential progression to CNC Machine Operator Level I and various shift options. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and basic math/measurement skills; ITAR compliance requires U.S. Person.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated basic math skills.
• Experience with measuring tools preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience with cranes, forklifts or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated CNC vertical and horizontal machines.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and setup sheets accurately.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify part dimensions.
• Address dull tools or irregular sounds and notify supervision when needed.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Attend training and progression to CNC Machine Operator Level I after 90 days.
