Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Winsted, Connecticut is seeking a CNC Machining Specialist to set up and operate CNC grinding and milling equipment to produce aerospace components.

You will read blueprints, verify tolerances, and work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Tool Room to optimize processes. 3–5 years of related machining experience, strong inspection skills, and a team-first mindset are required; overtime and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years of related machining experience.
• Hands-on exposure to CNC machining, grinding, milling, or multi-axis equipment.
• Proven blueprint reading and inspection skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Dependable attendance, positive attitude, team-first mindset.
• Aerospace background is a plus; strong machinists from other industries encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinding and milling equipment to produce precision aerospace parts.
• Measure, verify, and adjust using precision tools, prints, and offsets to hit spec the first time.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and the Tool Room to optimize processes.
• Model best-in-class safety, quality, and teamwork.
