Job summary

NSK Americas, Inc. in Alabama is seeking a CNC machinist to operate and set up lathes and milling machines on 2nd shift (3pm - 1:30am). Training will occur on 1st shift before transitioning to full 2nd shift, with additional split-shift training as needed.

The ideal candidate has several years of CNC experience, reads blueprints, and can set up tooling, measure parts with calipers and micrometers, and ensure parts are produced within tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
• Set up and operate assigned equipment to machine parts.
• Set up and operate additional machine tools during machining cycles.
• Adjust machine settings to meet specifications and tolerances.
• Inspect parts exiting the machine for conformance.
• Read and interpret machine part drawings and specs.
• Sharpen tools and set up tooling for cycles.
• Fabricate parts to blueprint specifications.
• Determine accuracy of machine operations.
• Move machine control and perform offsets as needed.
• Clean machine, tooling, and parts.
