Job summary

Timken is seeking an skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate vertical machining centers in a team-oriented environment. You will load programs, adjust tooling, and execute milling, drilling, and related operations per drawings and specs.

The role requires interpreting shop drawings, maintaining tools, and ensuring efficient machine performance. Overtime and all-shift availability are expected in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Eligible to work in the US.
• Willing to work overtime.
• Willing to work any shift.
• Ability to read shop drawings and use measuring tools (indicators, micrometers, gauges).
• General knowledge of mechanical or electrical principles.
• Capable of basic CNC offsets and tooling adjustments.
• Willing to work with medium to heavy tools and materials.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate Vertical Machining Centers in a team environment.
• Load programs and adjust as needed.
• Run milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, slotting, sawing operations.
• Set up fixtures and gauges; prep tools and fixtures.
• Interpret drawings and follow routings and specs.
• Maintain tool wear and machine cleanliness; report defects.
• Train other operators if required.
