Job summary

Timken is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for our New Castle, DE service center to support gear and power transmission manufacturing. The role involves setting up, programming and operating CNC equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality through GD&T and inspection practices.

Requires 5+ years in CNC manufacturing, Mastercam is a plus, and US work eligibility. The team works closely with cross-functional groups to meet production schedules and maintain QMS standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in a shop environment with CNC turning/milling carbon steels.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, inspection, and fixturing of low quantity precision parts.
• Experience establishing machining feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts for production.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints and GD&T.
• Mastercam experience is a plus; safety and quality commitment a must.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, program and operate multiple CNC machines (VTLs, Lathes, mills) with active tooling.
• Program controls including Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, Trak KMX/SLX.
• Collaborate with facility teams on capabilities and production schedules.
• Assist with inspection using basic equipment and ensure QMS documentation compliance.
• Develop and maintain tooling, fixtures, and work holding for high-quality parts.
