Job summary

VDL USA Holding Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Machining to lead CNC milling, turning, drilling, and secondary operations across the product lifecycle. You will apply DfM, develop tooling and fixtures, and drive improvements in quality, productivity, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years in developing and optimizing machining applications.
• Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam or equivalent).
• Experience reading drawings; GD&T; verifying tolerances.
• Experience validating CNC programs and supporting startup activities.
• Knowledge of fixture design, tooling, and process optimization.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume environments and ISO 9001 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as machining SME for CNC milling, turning, drilling, and secondary operations.
• Collaborate with NPI to define manufacturing requirements and strategies.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and tolerances to determine manufacturing needs.
• Apply DfM to improve machinability and reduce cost.
• Develop and optimize machining processes, tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing.
• Design fixtures, jigs, tooling, gauges to support production.
• Improve setup efficiency, cycle times, tool life, and OEE with operators.
• Support prototypes, validation, and production readiness reviews.
• Investigate defects and implement corrective actions; perform root cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce cycle/setup times, scrap, and waste.
• Support automation, Industry 4.0 initiatives as needed.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and QMS policies.
