Job Overview

Operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces according to specifications. Performs duties of CNC Machine Operators.

A Day In The Life

• Reviews specifications to determine machining sequence, checks dimensions of parts, interprets blueprints, and operates machines.
• Works according to production schedule.
• Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as work issues or damaged cutting tools.
• Analyzes production difficulties and reports them to the CNC Specialist or Production Supervisor.
• Measures conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, gages, and blueprints.
• Maintains required paperwork including production logs and scrap tickets.
• Notifies CNC Specialist or Supervisor of job completion or discrepancies.

What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?

1-2 years of experience operating CNC machines. Must be mechanically inclined.
